Prince William poked fun at his height during a recent outing to the headquarters of a British motorsport team.
On Thursday, April 23, the Prince of Wales stepped out for a solo visit to the headquarters of the British Formula E team, Jaguar TCS Racing. The royal, 43, made the trip to highlight the hub’s approach to electrification, innovation and sustainability.

While there, Prince William toured the facility and met with Formula E Jaguar drivers Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa. He also got a look at how Jaguar’s team of engineers designs, develops and manufactures their I-TYPE 7 and future race cars — even getting to sit inside one of the cars in development.
According to Express, as the royal got behind the wheel, he joked, “There’s not a lot of room in the legs, is there?”
Prince William’s joke about his 6-foot-3-inch frame came after his eldest son, Prince George, looked to be taking after his father’s stature on an Easter Sunday outing.

Earlier this month, on Sunday, April 5, Prince William and his family — including Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — attended an Easter Matins service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The event was the first public outing for royal kids George, Charlotte and Louis since Christmas, and the 12-year-old George’s height immediately drew attention. Despite Princess Kate wearing heels, Prince George was nearly as tall as his mother.
A tall stature runs in the family: Princess Kate herself is 5 feet 9 inches.
Prince William’s visit to the Jaguar facility came on the same day as his youngest son Prince Louis’ 8th birthday.
As is tradition, the young royal’s family marked the occasion by sharing a new photo of Louis. The picture, taken earlier this month during a family vacation to the scenic seaside region of Cornwall, shows Louis smiling, with wind-blown hair.

Prince William and Princess Kate also shared a new video of Prince Louis playing sports and spending time at the beach.
