The future king, 42, was spotted cruising into the royal residence on his sleek electric scooter on July 4 in a video shared on TikTok. This isn’t the first time the prince’s scooter has made headlines. Last year, it was reported that William invested in an electric scooter to navigate the Windsor estate more efficiently. The scooter allows him to speed up the 10-minute journey from Adelaide Cottage, where he lives with Kate Middleton and their three children, to Windsor Castle to visit his father, King Charles.

A source told The Sun: ‘It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King.

‘It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.’

Known for his environmental advocacy, William launched The Earthshot Prize in 2020 to support innovative solutions to combat climate change. His choice of the electric scooter as his mode of transport around the 655-acre estate aligns perfectly with his green initiatives.

The prince seems to have traded his love for motorcycles for this eco-friendly alternative. While he has been open about his passion for motorcycles, Kate has expressed concerns about his motorcycle riding.

“He’s still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I’m terrified,” she reportedly said in 2015, adding, “Hopefully, I’m going to keep George off it.”

In 2018, Prince William admitted he had to “tone it down” now that he has a young family. “I’m a dad of three. I have to tone it down. I miss the big trips, for me biking was always about being with everybody else,” he explained during a visit to the Isle of Man TT races.
