A never-before-seen photo of the Prince and Princess of Wales beaming as they hold hands on their wedding day has been unearthed.

The beautiful black and white snap shows William and Kate on their big day in April 2011 sitting side by side as the long train from the bride’s Alexander McQueen dress cascades down onto the floor.

Kate holds a bouquet of flowers in one hand while her other hand can be seen placed on William’s knee with his hand tenderly resting on top.

William himself can be seen wearing a different military uniform from the one he tied the knot in at Westminster Abbey.

During the huge televised service, the heir to the throne wore his Irish Guards uniform, whereas in this snap he wears a Blues and Royals uniform.

He is known to have worn both on his wedding day as he was spotted in the second outfit as he drove himself and Kate down the Mall in his dad’s car after the reception at Buckingham Palace.

The snap was shared by royal fan account, which claimed it featured on the front of William and Kate’s 2011 Christmas card.

One of these cards is currently up for sale on eBay with bids at £3,000.

It has emerged just days after an unseen photo from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding also recently came to light.

The candid snap features in the first teaser for the couple’s upcoming explosive Netflix documentary.

It shows Harry and Meghan at their evening reception smiling at each other as they take to the crowded dancefloor.

Billed as a Netflix Global Event, the streaming giant has promised an “unprecedented and in-depth documentary series” over six episodes where Harry and Meghan “share the other side of their high-profile love story”.

It added it was a “never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history”.

Netflix said the show “explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution”.

It features commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed according to Netflix, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press.

It adds: “The series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.”
