Prince George was the image of his dad, Prince William, as he stepped out alongside his mother, the Princess of Wales, in a poignant video in honour of Armed Forces Day.

The future King, 12, looked smart wearing a navy blue suit jacket, under which he wore a blue collared shirt as he boarded an aircraft at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile, Kate looked as elegant as always, wearing a slick tweed jacket for her solo outing with George.

Alongside the video, shared on the official social media channels for the Prince and Princess of Wales, were the words: “Honouring Service and Sacrifice. Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive.

“A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.”

The Princess has been Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby since August 2023, and the visit included time with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which is based at the station. The footage was filmed around two weeks ago

George’s fascination with aircrafts

Prince George has always had an affinity for aviation and reportedly had a private flying lesson back in 2024.

According to the Sun, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s eldest child flew with an instructor as his parents watched from the ground at White Waltham Airfield near Maidenhead, Berks, a 20-minute drive from their Windsor home.

George enjoyed an hour’s lesson at the airfield on the last day of the school summer holidays.

Aviation is a theme in the Wales household

George’s younger brother, Prince Louis, eight, also has a passion for aviation, and it was previously revealed he’d like to be a fighter pilot one day.

The confession came last October when Kate made her first visit to RAF Coningsby, where she took control of a flight simulator.

There, she confessed Louis’ dream, but added: “I’m going to tell them (her children) it takes eight years and a lot of hard work.”
