To mark World Cancer Day, Kensington Palace has released a new image of Kate Middleton—taken by none other than her youngest child, 6-year-old Prince Louis.

The photograph shows the Princess of Wales in the woods, with her arms outstretched. “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease,” she wrote in a message that accompanied the photograph. The quote was also shared over a photograph of ferns; the plant featured heavily in her cancer update video from September 2024.

Just last month, Kate revealed she was in remission from cancer. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support,” she wrote in a rare personal message.

In a video shared last September that announced the Princess had completed chemotherapy (watch below), her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were shown supporting their mom.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she said in a voiceover.

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
