Prince William didn’t come empty-handed to his latest royal outing.
On May 5, the Prince of Wales, 44, visited North Yorkshire to highlight rural communities and sustainability, where he met local farmers and people to learn more about the opportunities and challenges facing rural places today.
Along the way, the heir to the throne made a pit stop at Dales Bike Centre in Reeth and left with a box of sweet treats in a video that Kensington Palace shared to Instagram.

“Picking up cakes at Dales Bike Centre in Reeth. A well-loved local hub supporting cyclists and the wider community, the centre has become a popular stop for cyclists travelling through the Yorkshire Dales!” courtiers captioned the clip.
The haul was unveiled in a video shared by Hello! magazine, where Prince William chatted about the confections and shared which one he’d go for.
“The spread of cakes down there was simply exceptional. With this thing here, that is a Twix mountain of calorie grenade,” the Prince of Wales joked to the local farmers he met up with at Crow Tree Farm in Richmond.
“I have my eye on the chocolate… This is apparently a raspberry cheesecake, which they said was really, really good. I said, ‘Help me out for a bunch of farmers, ‘ and they went, ‘There you go,’ ” he added, which made everyone laugh.
” ‘That’s why you have to do the cycling, to work it off,” joked Crow Tree Farm owner Adam Hunter, and William exclaimed, “That Twix thing is insane. If I ate that, I’d be in the gym for about three days,” which made the group laugh again.
The Prince of Wales also accepted a cup of tea and said he would take it with “just milk, please, I’m a Yorkshire man as well.”

“I’ve been up to Yorkshire quite a few times; this dale down here I know reasonably well,” he added about the area he was visiting.
Prince William isn’t shy about his love of chocolate and authoritatively said at National Federation of Women’s Institutes in London in September 2025, “I know my brownies.” His wife, Kate Middleton, echoed, “William is very fussy about it,” and teased that she “had to learn the hard way” that he didn’t like nuts in brownies.

The Prince of Wales brought the cakes to his meet up with farmers from across Swaledale, hearing about their experiences as multi-generational farmers and the realities facing modern farming today.
All of the young farmers that Prince William met with on Tuesday have young families, and they gathered for a chat on farm diversification, nature conservation and nature-friendly farming.
Prince William is a passionate advocate for sustainability and conservation — like his father, King Charles — and has made the mental health of farmers a focus of his royal work in that sector.
