Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are set to enjoy a break from their ordinary routine with half-term approaching. But during his break from Lambrook School, which all three attend, it seems nine-year-old George won’t be exempt from holiday chores.
His parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have made it clear they believe in instilling a sense of responsibility in their children.
During a visit to a goat farm in Wales last year, where George was enjoying time away from school, Prince William and Kate let slip that George had an unusual task assigned to him.
The family were spending time at Anmer Hall, Norfolk home on the family’s Sandringham estate when William noticed a robot silage sweeper in one of the barns. He drew the farmer’s attention to it, who then revealed that the device could also be used to move feed.
Kate shared with a smile: “That was George’s job at half term – moving feed.”
William then told the farmer of another activity the children had been getting involved with during their stay at the Sandringham farm where Charles has been working on creating a fully organic operation.
He said: “We are trying some Agroforestry as well.”
The half-term holidays come on the heels of Prince George’s prominent role in his grandfather’s recent Coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
Young George was given the esteemed responsibility of being a page of honour, carrying The King’s robes, despite the traditional age range for such roles being 12 to 15 years old. He was given the role because he had shown “deep interest” in the ceremony.

The half-term holidays come on the heels of Prince George’s prominent role in his grandfather’s recent Coronation ceremony.
An insider revealed, prior to the Coronation, that King Charles was eager to showcase the natural heirs and the next generation of the royal family at the heart of the ceremony.
They said: “Even though he is only nine, George is very mature and already has a deep understanding of the roles of his grandfather and father, as well as his future role.
“This task is a wonderful sign of the future being laid out by the King.”
