Prince William’s public appearances are never complete without his signature suave style and his trusty Omega wristwatch. Having been spotted on his wrist for decades now, the watch isn’t just a fancy timepiece, it is a piece of history that is quite close to the future king’s heart.
If you haven’t guessed by now, Prince William’s watch isn’t just a stylish accessory or a nod to tradition; it holds a much deeper, more personal meaning.

The watch, an Omega Seamaster, has been his companion for decades and is believed to be a gift from his late mother, Princess Diana. As per reports, the watch was given to him before her tragic passing in 1997, and since then the prince has worn it to all his engagement as a homage to his beloved mummy.
William wore the timepiece on one of the most important days of his life — his wedding to Kate Middleton, and still continues to wear it at countless official engagements. While many in his position of power would have long swapped the sleek Omega for something more extravagant or bespoke, he sticks to this one. And it’s easy to see why.
Apart from being a gift, the Omega Seamaster is definitely a worthy watch to have handy. Originally launched in 1948, the watch is worth around £3,000 and boasts a blue dial, quartz movement, a rotating bezel, and a stainless steel bracelet. It’s understated, durable, and steeped in sentiment. The features aside, of course the Prince keeps it around because of its emotional value more than anything else.

The only other watch William has been spotted wearing apart from his Omega is the Garmin Forerunner 245 smartwatch. But he definitely does not swap it for his original watch. Instead, the prince usually wears it on his other wrist. Unlike the Omega, this one’s all about practicality. It tracks steps, monitors his heart rate, and probably helps him keep up with his fitness goals
And nope, wearing two watches isn’t unusual at all! It actually runs in the family. Princess Diana was once photographed with two on her wrist during a 1981 polo match, one of them belonging to Prince Charles, worn in support of his game.
