Prince William is officially a Swiftie. To celebrate his 42nd birthday, he brought his two eldest children—Prince George and Princess Charlotte—to watch the Eras Tour in London at Wembley Stadium. (T&C can confirm that Kate Middleton stayed home with Prince Louis.)
During the evening, the royals met Taylor Swift backstage, and took some selfies with the pop superstar.
This morning, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s official social media channels shared a snap of Swift taking a selfie with the royals. “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour” they posted in the caption:
Swift posted a selfie, from a slightly different angle—and featuring her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, wearing a Team USA Olympics hat. “Happy Bday M8!” Taylor Swift wrote in the caption, referencing Prince William’s birthday, “London shows are off to a splendid start.”
She ended with emojis of the UK flag emoji, the American flag, and a handshake.
Videos of the royals from the concert appear to show Zara Tindall and her daughter, Mia Tindall, in attendance with the Waleses.
The royals all watched from a private box at Wembley Stadium—they were not seated in what is known as the “VIP Tent” on the floor.
Videos also show the Prince of Wales dancing to “Shake It Off” during the 1989 part of the set.
Swift is set to perform seven more times at Wembley Stadium (two more times this month and five times in London).
The first night was extremely star-studded—in addition to the Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, Bridgerton‘s Nicola Coughlan, Cara Delevigne, Salma Hayek, and more were in attendance—so we can expect to see more stars (and possibly more royals!) watching her other shows.
