President Donald Trump complimented Kate Middleton during the official welcome for the U.S. state visit to the U.K. on Sept. 17.
The Princess of Wales and Prince William greeted the president and first lady Melania Trump on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the ceremonial arrival marked the start of the visit.

As they shook hands, Trump, 79, told Princess Kate, 43: “You’re beautiful, so beautiful.”
The exchange came moments after the Trumps stepped off Marine One and greeted the royal couple. Prince William, 43, guided the group forward, placing a hand on Kate and Melania’s backs as they began walking together.

President Trump and his wife are visiting the U.S. at the invitation of King Charles for an unprecedented second state visit to the U.K., which officially runs from Wednesday, Sept. 17 to Thursday, Sept. 18.
The American president has previously commented on Prince William’s appearance and described the heir to the throne as “very handsome.”

“He’s a good looking guy. He looked really, very handsome last night,” Trump told The New York Post about his one-on-one meeting with the Prince of Wales following the ceremonial reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in December 2024.
“Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that,” Trump said then.
