Kate Middleton Shares Sweet Comment About Prince William at Charity Reception

Spread the love

Kate Middleton was feeling the love for Prince William at her latest engagement.

On June 2, the Princess of Wales, 44, made a rare public comment about her love for her husband while attending a reception commemorating the 125th anniversary of the charity Cancer Research U.K. with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Princess Kate said something sweet about her spouse while speaking to singer Ronan Keating and his wife Storm, who asked about William and sent their hellos. Storm praised the Prince of Wales as “such a gent,” and Ronan said, “We love him,” the Daily Mail reported.

In an adorable reply, Kate said, “So do I.”

The Princess of Wales shared another kind word about Prince William, 43, at the royal reception at St. James’s Palace in London on Wednesday, as she spoke to the widower of Dame Deborah James. James was a BBC podcast host who became nicknamed “Bowelbabe” for her advocacy in spreading awareness about cancer; she died in 2022 at age 40 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016.

James’ husband, Sebastien Bowen, expressed his gratitude for a conversation William had with their two children and Kate said, “He’s good like that.”

Prince William and Princess Kate have been married for 15 years and share children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. The family was rocked when Princess Kate underwent treatment for cancer in 2024, and the royal announced with “relief” in January 2025 that she was in remission.

Princess Kate said in her 2024 cancer diagnosis announcement that she and William took time to “explain everything” to their children, and the Prince of Wales later shared that they chose to be open with George, Charlotte and Louis about what was going on.

The heir to the throne made the revelation in conversation with Brazilian television host Luciano Huck while in Brazil for the 2025 Earthshot Prize Awards, where the interview turned to what Huck described as a “very tough” past two years, when both King Charles and Princess Kate were diagnosed with cancer. (Buckingham Palace announced the King’s cancer diagnosis in 2024, and his treatment continues today.)

William said that he and Kate “chose to communicate a lot more with our children,” which comes with “its good things and its bad things.”

“Sometimes you feel you’re oversharing with the children you probably shouldn’t. But most of the time, hiding stuff from them doesn’t work,” he said then.

William recently gave a rare, emotional update about Kate’s recovery journey on the radio show Heart Breakfast, sharing that he was “so proud” of his wife and noting that their family “couldn’t cope without her.”
